10 000 Hours.

It has long been said* that it takes about 10 000 hours to master a skill.

*universal research term for ‘I was too lazy to look up the original source’.

If that’s the case, I think after the past couple months I’m a grand-master at making face masks. I have been itching to change up the style, but haven’t had time to even get into the fabric I ordered that everyone wanted masks in, because… well, I’m still plugging away at the ones I need to get done. Sometimes I get a few ahead, but never quite as far as I’d like.

But the food bank is making out well, so that’s the part that matters.

I’ve been making other things. But I’ve also not been remembering to document the process. So I guess I’ll just have to make more zucchini muffins, try a different kind of macaron (the first attempt was strawberry lemon. Next time I’m aiming for chocolate mint, and the filling should make some interesting candies). I’m itching to make chocolate covered cherries and other filled chocolates, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll get the prototype of the fish bag I’ve been designing for a while finished.

Because mastery of something is fine and well, but I’d rather just keep trying new and different things to learn.
